Actualización de un original Arcam Alfa
Background
This old stalwart dates back in design to about 1989 y creo que la mina se hizo en 1991. El Arcam Alfa utiliza uno de los primeros DAC chips de alrededor, the famous TDA1541(UN). Here’s a good page dedicated to players featuring this chip: Lampizator guy. The author of that site is famous in DIY circles but misses a few important tricks when modifying CD players.… Leer artículo completo

Problema con la reproducción en Emby para Kodi
A couple of weeks ago I had a sudden problem playing local media in Kodi via the Emby plugin. I fixed it temporarily by rolling back to an older version of the plugin 2.3.57. There were briefly issues with a newer build of the plugin but these have now been resolved in version 2.3.61, at least according to the only thread I could find with the same issue on the emby forum.

Perspectiva 2007 generating corruption in some sent e‑mails
I recently encountered a very strange problem in outlook 2007. E‑mails sent to large numbers of recipients (aprox 30) were suffering from some corruption where a large part of the header was appearing in the content of the e‑mail. The appeared as a long string of random characters followed by some text (eg “Sosha1_v1;7” and “x‑cr-puzzleid”) that suggested the garbled text was part of the outlook anti-spam “postmark” feature. The e‑mail message appeared as normal below this corrupt text. Another symptom of the problem was e‑mail failing to send properly the first time send/receive was clicked.

Problem with Juice — solved
For a while I’ve used the podcast manager Jugo. I’ve been very happy for a while, but the other day it suddenly stopped running for no obvious reason. Uninstalling and reinstalling didn’t resolve the issue, but after some digging I discovered the uninstallation process wasn’t deleting the settings file. On Windows XP this is located in C:\Documents and Settings\Application Data and is a folder called iPodder (no jugo!). Deleting this folder and then reinstalling Juice restored it to its former glory.

Fijo: DVBLink medios del centro de mensajes PlayReady
I’ve been using DVBLink to share TV around my home for several years. De todos los problemas con ella, the most dreaded is the “Play Ready” error on Windows Media Center clients. The problem is this error message is meaningless — it is generated by Media Center, and just means it can’t get a signal from the tuner. The failure could be anywhere behind the scenes. Recientemente mi 2 main clients started throwing this error completely out of the blue.
