2Logo Mozilla FirefoxRemovendo plugins do Firefox, addons & extensões

Quase 18 meses atrás eu escrevi uma breve nota sobre como retire do fogo-raposa plu-gins deter-minadas, addons e exten-sões which don’t have a “remove” button in the Add-ons manager. I have updated and added to the original list, and will continue to add any further plugins I encounter here. If in doubt there is usually no harm done by leaving or removing any plugins, addons or extensions. I advise removing all of those that you don’t use as they are using memory and processing resources and slow firefox down. In some cases the stability of the browser can even be undermined by plugins.… Leia o artigo completo

I was so pleased upon upgrading to Firefox 4 to no longer have Windows Live Messenger crashing the browser every time I opened Hotmail and had an active conversation window. I don’t know if it was Microsoft or Firefox at fault but the problem seems to have gone away now.

I’m less pleased, contudo, that two of my plug-ins for the previous version aren’t yet supported. Then again, one of those is old and seldom used and the other (IE Tab) should follow in time.

Just a quick post, it seems that Microsoft have finally made a reasonable web browser, or at least the folks at Tom’s Hardware seem to think soI’m still looking forward to Firefox 4, and hoping Mozilla will deliver a 64bit version as promised, but a bit of competition from the (still) dominant player in the browser market can’t be a bad thing.

1Mozilla Minefield x64The case for x64 browsers?

I’ve recently been using Firefox 4 64bit prebeta, also known as Minefield. I thought it would be interesting to compare various browsers to see if this supports my feeling that Minefield is the fastest browser I’ve used. The conclusions are quite interesting. I will continue to update this table as new versions are released

Eu tenho um HTPC and a network server on my network. My server is always on, mas o HTPC sleeps when it is not in use. If I want to schedule recordings remotely I need a way to wake the HTPCThe solution I came up with is to provide a webpage on my server (password protected) that wakes the HTPC and then redirects to the web interface of the remote control app of the HTPCBelow is the code for anyone interested…

In addition to this blog I also have a blog about recipesI decided that I wanted a print icon on the main page for each post so that people can print the recipes. Googling provided various suggestions, none of which worked. However, I eventually cobbled together the following, which seems to work…
