I am constantly working on both my websites and my web server stack with the aim of it being fast, reliable and secure. New technologies and new vulnerabilities mean a constanyl moving target and sometimes things that have been previously fixed can recur. As well as maintaining articles about many fixes, and a site updates log, I use a range of website testing tools. As this list has grown it has reached a point where I felt the need to document the services I use
- W3C HTML5 validator: Warnings about code that is used by chrome but isn’t part of the standard yet, otherwise all correct
- W3C CSS3 validator: No errors at time of writing
- Security Headers Validator: Grade A at time of writing
- Mozilla Observatory Security Checker: Grade B+ at time of writing
- WebPageTest.org speed test: Grade A at time of writing
- GTmetrix speed test: Grades A/B at time of writing
- SSL Labs Security Test: Grade A+ at time of writing
- Google PageSpeed Insights: 98% mobile / 100% desktop at time of writing
- KeyCDN tools: Useful information tools, not used for grading
