4Dell 3130CN LogoDefault login for Dell 3130CN laser printer

Published 7th November 2010 by Jon Scaife & filed under Misc Hardware. Last updated 24th January 2012.

I recently had a problem with the family Dell 3130cn printer. Once I had realised that it was just a case of the printer losing its IP address I manually configured the IP with the panel on the printer and then fired up the web interface to check what was going on. Irritatingly I couldn’t log into the web interface, so I dug out the userguide to locate the default username and password. They are listed as “admin” and “password”. Great. Except that didn’t work.

After googling thoroughly I eventually resorted to guessing passwords. It didn’t take long to discover that on my device the default password appears to be blank. i.e. no password at all! So if you can’t get in to your dell and you need to know the default login try the username admin with no password!
