4Default login for Dell 3130CN laser printer

I recently had a prob­lem with the fam­ily Dell 3130cn print­er. Once I had real­ised that it was just a case of the print­er los­ing its IP address I manu­ally con­figured the IP with the pan­el on the print­er and then fired up the web inter­face to check what was going on. Irrit­at­ingly I could­n’t log into the web inter­face, so I dug out the user­guide to loc­ate the default user­name and pass­word. They are lis­ted as “admin” and “pass­word”. Great. Except that did­n’t work.

After googling thor­oughly I even­tu­ally resor­ted to guess­ing pass­words. It did­n’t take long to dis­cov­er that on my device the default pass­word appears to be blank. i.e. no pass­word at all! So if you can­’t get in to your dell and you need to know the default login try the user­name admin with no password!
